Ten minutes north of Florence is Heceta Head Lighthouse, one of the most photographed lighthouses in the world. A short walk from the beach at Devils Elbow State Park takes you to the lighthouse where the keeper will sometimes let you climb to the top. Less than a mile away are Sea Lion Caves, the largest natural sea caves in the world.
   
One of the finest historic renovations on the Pacific Coast, Florence's Old Town is crowded with fine restaurants and shops. On the docks you can see commercial fishermen unloading their day's catch. Often blue herons and eagles on the wing are sighted.
   
Ten minutes from the Old Town Inn are magnificent ocean beaches where you can walk, explore the tidal pools and play to your heart's content. Area hiking trails are among the most beautiful and best maintained in the world.
   
Five minutes away from the Old Town Inn is the championship 18 hole Sandpines Golf Course another ten minutes takes you to Ocean Dunes Golf Course, another great 18 hole course.
   
Over 40 fresh water lakes are within minutes of Florence.  Boating, fishing, swimming, water skiing and other water sports are popular with visitors.
If you do not own your own sand rail, Dune Buggy Tours are a fun, exciting, way to see the dunes. Professional drivers will maneuver through deceiving terrain showing you all the best spots in the Oregon Dunes. These 300’ to 500’ dunes will excite and impress you!
   
River fishing on the Siuslaw draws expert fishermen from around the world. Try to get a motel room in September when the salmon are running!
   
Miller Park in Florence is host to one of Oregon's newest Skate Parks. Boards, in-line skates and bikes are all welcome.
